1. Cleaning and washing section: The sweet potato is firstly be cleaned in dry sieve to remove the sand, weed and other dirty materials. The dry sieve is a high effective sweet potato starch machine which will not damage the raw material. And the washed sweet potato is transported into rotary washing machine to further wash the attached impurities, such as soil and sand in sweet potato starch processing plant. This washing machine adopts countercurrent washing principle which can ensure the raw material be washed cleanly and thoroughly.
2. Cutting and crushing section: After cleaning and washing process, the sweet potato is converted to the sweet potato starch processing machine for cutting. The main purpose of cutting sweet potato is to make the crushing easier. By cutting the sweet potato into small pieces, it not only make the crushing more thoroughly but also reduce the possible damage caused to the rasper machine. After cutting, the broken pieces goes into the crushing machine. The extensively used crushing machine is rasper in sweet potato starch processing plant.
3. Starch slurry screening section: Starch slurry is also an important procedure in sweet potato starch processing plant. By sieving, the purpose of separating and purifying starch is achieved. To achieve better screening effect, multiple screening or countercurrent washing processes are adopted throughout the process.

4. Concentration and refining section: The function of this process is to remove insoluble protein and residual soluble protein and other impurities from the starch slurry, thereby achieving the purpose of washing, refining and concentrating the starch milk. At present, the hydrocyclone station is commonly used for washing, refining and concentrating in sweet potato starch processing plant. According to the different specific gravity of water, starch and yellow pulp protein, this machine can effectively remove the impurities.
5. Dewatering section: The moisture content of the starch milk coming out from the cyclone station is too large to be directly dried in sweet potato starch processing plant. Therefore, the starch milk should be dehydrated first, so that the moisture content of the starch is about 40%. The starch milk is pumped into the vacuum filter tank, and the vacuum pump forms a negative pressure in the vacuum drum. When the starch milk is in contact with the vacuum drum, the starch is sucked on the drum surface and is scraped off by a scraper. While the filtrate is sucked into the filtrate separation tank, pumped away by the filtrate pump.

6. Drying and packing section: The final process in sweet potato starch processing plant is the drying and packing. The dehydrated starch cake is transported to the feed inlet of the flash dryer through the conveyor belt and enters the hoist through the feeder. The wet starch is heated by the high speed hot air and the water is evaporated. Finally, the dried starch is then transported to semi-automatic packaging machine and packaged into finished products.
